Speaking on behalf of allergy sufferers everywhere, i'm proposing that they change the lyrics to "buy me some peanut-substitute and cracker jacks". it's offensive to me and others that we should be forced to sing a song that jeopardizes our health! i recently had a VERY bad experience with penuts at the ball park (SEE MY LAST QUESTION).

Instead of trying top change a part of American folklore and tradition, why don't you and your family move to Greenland where it's too cold to grow peanuts and maybe find something else to offend you. You don't really need to sing the song, put on your i-Pod ear buds and listen to Barry Manilow during the 7th inning stretch.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that this isn't some really lame attempt at being facetious, or a joke.

For starters, (referring to your ballpark question) you're an idiot if you go to a baseball game and expect there NOT to be peanuts for sale or being consumed; they've been at every baseball game for the last 130 years, so if you have an allergy, and you go knowing that nuts are present, then you are stupid. Perhaps it's not fair, but you were dealt this hand and you have to deal with it. Do you see albinos suing the ball park for getting a sunburn watching the game? No, because they are smart enough to either wear protective clothes, stay at home and watch on TV, or deal with the sunburn.

Secondly, from a legal standpoint, you wouldn't have a peanut-swollen leg to stand on, because a) the stadium has posted signage that says they serve nut products (it's required by law), and b) in the case of the song, (the actual subject of this question) a song can't cause you physical harm or jeopardize someone's health... so any suit you launch would be laughed out of court. Third, it's jerks like you that actually DO launch frivolous, BS lawsuits that clog up courts and take time away from real cases and real problems. I could go further but I think my point's been made. Grow up and get a life.

The peanuts are your allergy, not the song. The song does not jeopardize your health!! What will you want next? To sue every person who says the word peanuts within your hearing range? Don't be ridiculous!! You are making a fool of yourself!! The rest of the world should not be subject to your idiosyncrasies!!

Get a life!!

What an absolutely incredibly moronically assinine comment to make. You cannot begin to belive you have the right to ask someone to change their creative endeavors because you don't like their song. NOBODY FORCES YOU TO STAND UP AT THE SEVENTH INNING AND SING THE SONG. So you're allergic to peanuts, sorry dude, I'm allergic to bee stings. You don't see me and millions of other people going around signing petitions to ban the use of the phrase "the Birds and the Bees" or "Bee Girl" by Pearl Jam, Busy as a Bee, or even Queen Bee.

How could I be so arrogant as to think that I had the power to change one of the greatest cinematic productions ever just because of my personal physical defect? How could I aks for changes in "INVASION OF THE BEE GIRLS"???

EEEEEEEEEHHHHH !!!! Wrong answer Palley!! There are certain things that you just can't mess with. My dad .took me to my 1st big league game, just like his dad did with him. And the ritual gets passed down from generation to generation. You get a program, a large bag of unshelled peanuts, cokes all around for about $6.00. You find the seats and then you start shuckin' those peanuts. In a couple of years I'll do it with my boy. Now, if that idea freaks you out, then head out there to aisle 234 and get yourself friggin' eggroll, California roll and an Asahi beer for a total of $22.50. I'm sorry, that peanuts make you sick but leave baseball out of your prognosis and keep damn sure "THE SONG" remains unblemished. It's one of the few unblemished things left in this country. DON'T MUCK IT UP.

How can a song jeopardize your health? Do you watch peanut butter commercials? How about movies that have peanuts being eaten? Come on get real!

First, sorry about your peanut allergy. It's dangerous and can kill a person if not treated promptly. That said, are you the idiot who sued the LA Angels because you didn't get a Angels purple purse on Mother's Day last year? People like you are the reason people who really need our courts can't get justice.

I am sorry you had a bad reacition to peanuts. As far as the song is concerned... You can take any lyric from any song ever written and find someone who would like a lyric changed because of health, prejudice, or a zillion other reasons.

Since you are one of the few people who is hypersensitive to something so innoculous as a peanut, I seriously think you should refrain from breeding. You are such a wimp, it sucks that we have to even acknowledge your little problem. If you can't deal with peanuts, why don't you go get a plastic bubble and live in it? But please don't reproduce.
