I wear color contacts....actually I've been wearing them since I was 15. Now i'm 19....and i've seen my eye sight get worse. Not horrible though. So I bought glasses to rest my eyes. I've also heard about a fungus that is affecting the eye, with the Renu Solution for contacts. What truth is there in both of my questions?

It's good to rest your eyes--at least try to take them out in the evenings. I don't think it makes your vision worse, but it can affect your eye health as far as the cornea and infections etc. I haven't heard of the Renu problem, but there was a Bausch & Loumb recall.

Contacts can be bad for your eyes if you don't take them out at night and your eyes don't get enough oxygen.
About contacts actually making your eye sight worse - I am not sure about that one. I wore glasses only for 10 years and my eyes have gotten worse and worse and then when I switched to both contacts and glasses they keep getting worse. I think it has to more with genes than anything.
Not sure about the Renu Solution - sorry

Yea same thing has happened to me, except I've been wearing glasses for four years without contacts, and my eye sight has been getting worse. I think everyones eyes get worse overtime depending on how they take care of them.
My older sister, who has been wearing contacts for about three years, her doctor said that she shouldn't always were contacts because it keeps oxygen from getting to your eyes. So he told her to take her contacts of about an hour before she goes to sleep and wear her glasses so oxygen can get to her eyes before she shuts them for sleep.
And about the fungus, I think its true. I'm not positiveley sure, but I have heard of it on the news.

Hard contacts are bad for your vision, soft do nothing to your vision. Normally as you get older it gets worse.
