No, they no longer need them because they keep them all on heavy meds.

You wont find any sort of records for that... or you shouldn't. There are now laws in place (HIPPA) that protects people and their personal records. Even finding a register of who has been admitted or had residency at a mental institution these days is a violation. Unfortunately these days peoples personal health information is so protected that even as a close family member seeking information on someone who is in the hospital will get nowhere whithout a current signed release specifically stating that that person has rights to thier information. Some places are not as stringent as others but as a whole it's impossible.
