Provera? Do you mean depo provera? If you do, that depo provera made me have a period for 3 months straight. My doctor told me that was normal but i quit it anyways. No way I wanted my period to last forever.

That's not good at all. What do you mean it's painful? Do you mean painful as in menstrual cramps or painful when you urinate? Because if you have pain while urinating and bleeding at the same time it could be something serious. I just read that those are sometimes symptoms of a bladder infection. If I were you, I would go to the hospital. Don't bother with the Gynecologist. If they didn't do anything the last time you went and didn't even explain to you why this is happening. I understand your concern about the cost. But there are things you just have to do. There should be no reason that you should be on your period for a whole month. Please go.
You said Provera isn't helping, do you mean you started on provera to help with the bleeding or have you been on provera for a while? If you have been on it, that might be the reason. A lot of women are having side effects from the shot. I was on it but got off a few months ago. It has messed my period up drastically. Nothing like what you have but the opposite. I rarely get a period.

Try and find a women's clinic in your area. Check with your local hospital. They should know of one. What you're describing is not only abnormal but extremely dangerous. You could become anemic from the loss of blood.

You may not be able to afford but you may need to go. first call and talk to a nurse. My daughter uses the same and one of her friends had her period for six months. It sounds to me that you need to call now.

Go see a doctor. If one doctor is inconclusive, go see another, and so on.

Maybe you are having a miscarriage?
Or maybe you recently had an abortion?
