Yes, you can. On the pill you have what is known as "withdrawal bleeding" caused by the lack of hormones during the placebo (sugar pill) week. This is different from the period that you get when not on the pill--that period is caused by not having a fertilized egg. By skipping the placebo week, you keep your hormone levels high enough to prevent having a period. However, I wouldn't recommend doing this too often, especially if you are on a higher dose pill, because not giving your body a break from the hormones can make any side effects worse. It's ok for most women to do it once in a while, but if you're interested in skipping your period often, you should ask your doctor about a new low-dose pill called Seasonale. It gives you only four periods a year.

If you are on the pill, your endometrial lining (which is what comes out when you have a period) does not get as thick as it would when you are not on the pill. This is one of the ways the pill prevents pregnancy (by not allowing the endometrium to become thick enough to support an embryo) and is also why your period can get shorter and lighter on the pill. If you skip a period, that lining will just build up a little more over the next month. This is not dangerous; the pill Seasonale does exactly the same thing. Going a very long time without a period could possibly be dangerous because it could raise your risk for endometrial cancer. However, skipping a few months is not dangerous--otherwise there would not be a pill designed to do exactly that.

Yes, you can. The uterine buildup that results in your period on the Pill doesn't really even begin building up until you take your first inactive pill, so if you go straight to the next pack there is no buildup to get rid of. You can skip theoretically skip it indefinitely, but there's not any long-term research to indicate whether this is without side effects. Plus, you may find that you can't go longer than 3 cycles or so before you start spotting. But, it's nice to have the option of not bleeding while you're on vacation or something.

No.

During the month your cycle progresses until the blood lining in your uterus in in place. When you are not pregnant that lot must go to make way for the new one - if you were to skip your period you would be doing yourself a great dis-service.

I also, don't think the pill works that way - and I sure don't recommend messing around with it. You would likely still get your period and your hormones would be out of whack besides. I have known girls to have very serious problems from hormone imbalances (from crying jags, to hysterically breaking up with a perfectly good boyfriend for no good reason, to thoughts of suicide) don't mess around with it.

Take all the pills, even the sugar pills - when you sign on for medical treatment, you must do it properly or you are asking for trouble.

Yes, if you go straight to next months pack you can skip a period. I would suggest you talk to your doctor before doing that, but under normal circumstances it doesn't cause any problems.

Yes you can. There are some women who do it and there are some doctors who recommend it for some women depending on situation and health.

I can't say I've ever done it but I don't do well with BC pills anyway. However, there is tons of information on the web about this and not all doctors agree it's safe. You should do the research and talk with your doctor before you decide to do it.

because of the fact beginning administration does not defend you from STDs. basically a condom can try this. that is great that your gf is on beginning administration, as you're top approximately it being extra helpful against being pregnant. in spite of the undeniable fact that oral beginning administration and different contraceptives, such because of the fact the beginning administration jewelry and photographs, do no longer defend you or her from STDs. Pulling out/chickening out (regardless of you opt to call it) is likewise for the prevention of being pregnant, no longer STDs. the only time that is risk-free to no longer use condoms is while the two one in all you're monogamous and the two one in all you have presently been checked for STDs and HIV/AIDS, and had unfavorable effects for sure. regardless of in case you understand you and your companion have been monogamous, you will desire to the two be examined each 6 months purely to determine. remember which you do no longer would desire to have intercourse to get HIV/AIDS, and the final element you choose to do is provide your companion an STD.
