One of Viet Nam's main exports is clothing of all kinds, probably because labor is cheap there. Viet Nam imports many medical products and machinery.

One of the biggest exports is rice. Vietnam had been second only to the U.S. in rice exports (yes, we are the largest rice producers in the world). Oil will become the largest export as soon as their infrastructure improves. Textiles, such as clothing, is a major export of Vietnam and Thailand.
Imports are tough to Vietnam because of all the corruption. USED medical equipment is a big commodity as well as consumer electronics.
