Would opening a new play in Chicago rather than New York do any harm to an eventual New York production?

It might pose some limitations, since many theatres and festivals only want world premieres. However, as a playwright, there is no way I would turn down a Chicago production!

no it doesnt matter where it starts it matters where it ends up.
