Marriage has gone on way before christianity, but yet christianity wants to claim it. With divorce rates over 50% across the nation, isn't it about time we tried other options.

It's an issue because it firms up
the right wing voter base at election time.
Also, it distracts the public from things like
invading Iran.

The argument, and I agree it's a flawed one, is that the next step is to make polygamy legal. The question hasn't exactly been framed as a Christian one but a "traditional" one.

I read it as a way to try to mobilize the base before the midterm elections by appealing to anti-gay sentiment. The amendment failed.

christians are meant to tell people what God says about these things and gay relationships are not what he wants God created Eve for Adam gay marriages should be stopped. divorces wouldnt be so many if more people started opening their eyes to God
