would someone using firefox go to this page and pass your cursor over the word yahoo and see if the cursor turns into a hand? also click on it to see if it opens yahoo in a new browser window. this is not a normal href link.

works great in internet explorer but i don't have access to firefox on this library computer.

Yes, the cursor changes into a hand.
Yes, Yahoo! homepage opens in a separate window.

I use Firefox 1.5.0.4

If you don't have access to install Firefox, just download Portable Firefox to the desktop and run it from there.

It will run Firefox without having to install anything.

turns to a hand but the page comes up mostly blank

it should work any browser that have javascript, if the browser does not have javascript or javascript turns off the page won't work. what you did is normal thing span tag with onclick event so it should work on any browser.
