We bring our own thoughts and experiences to the questions, thus taking a slightly different meaning from them than was in the mind of the asker.

You know, that is really true!! I have often asked a question and when people have responded, they have given me a Lot of extra info on things that I didn't even ask for!! Some things they told me didn't even pertain to the question. I have even voted on shorter answers because some were just too long, and made NO sense. I think they think that the longer their answer is, the more likely you will be to vote for them and give them 10 pts. It can be really confusing sometimes.

Ahhh...we bring all of ourselves, baggage and assumptions to everything, even YA. I make inferences and assumptions sometimes because i feel i have to to answer. I may be wrong about what i assume. Another possibility is that something in your question may be revealing in a way that you don't realize. For example a 12-yr old may not realize that the way she words a question reveals something about her age. You may not realize that the way you worded a question reveals something about you.

We all have an agenda of sorts. I think it's fun to hear different views and opinions. It's just for fun and entertainment and it's entertaining to hear serious people too. Whatever.

Most of the questions on here are completely pointless. Not many really make you think.

When you ask about "hot button" issues like homosexuality and religion, people will respond accordingly.
