As a person, why does race matter, I enjoy a types of music. I enjoy Pearl Jam to Bob Marley & the Wailers to the Wu-Tang Clan to . It is all art. Who are you to say what I can and cannot listen to. Music is for the masses not for some uptight bigot to tell me what is right or wrong. Last I checked there was a freedom of speech in this country. I can listen to what ever I want. You can choose to do whatever you want. That's the beauty of the US.

I'm white and I listen to rap. I listen to it because I like it. I like the sound of it, the rhythm, and the lyrics. It's just my taste in music. I listen to other types of music too, but rap is among my favorites. Why shouldn't I listen to rap? Is it exclusively for black people??? Should country music be exclusive to whites then?
I don't think I'm black, I don't pretend to be or try to act like it and I don't listen to rap just to fit in somewhere. I simply like the music and won't stop listening to it even if dumbasses like you try to tell me to or ridicule my taste.
And just so you know, the rap you see on MTV does not represent the entire genre. There's different rap too, better rap (in my opinon) than that, quality music about things that matter, not just some bling bling crap. Unfortunately there are always dumb people like you around who think that what you see on MTV represents the whole genre, all its fans and entire races. Didn't your mom teach you not to believe everything you see on TV?

you, my friend, have fallen into the hell of racial profiling. is rap all you think about when you envision black people? i think that many blacks from Africa would be offended by your assumptions. maybe i shouldn't even be answering your question because i am neither white nor black. i don't even listen to or like rap music. just let people listen to rap if they feel like it, it's music, for crying out loud, and if the artists didn't want to be famous among a white audience, then they wouldn't have their videos played on MTV.
anyway, that attitude that rappers have doesn't have to be exclusive to only African Americans, why can't it transcend the racial barrier. you're dragging us back into the dark ages of segregation based on cultural heritage and skin color. i bet that you would have a cd store that's racially segregated where on the "colored" side there would only be rap and hip hop. and on the "white" side there would be country, opera, rock and roll, and jazz.
by the way... did you know that jazz and rock and roll arose from the African American community? jazz became popular during the Harlem Renaissance and rock and roll was a term coined by African American radio dj's. man, learn your music history. there is no racial barrier between music.
...stupid bigot...

Please listen to Dianamite. You are a racist and THAT is shameful. I am white and I am not a kid. AND I never watch MTV. Ever. But I do listen to rap. I listen to it because I like it. I also listen to pop, rock and hip-hop.
Please become tolerant of your fellow man and make the world a better place.

No, the dumbest thing in the world is someone who thinks they can decide what someone can or can't do based on the color of their skin.
Nothing is more shameful than being a racist.

It's gives them a reason to use the word "n**gas". Black rappers are incompetent in calling by themselves that. Some Whites don't won't to be black but they make fun of black music.
