I don't really have one, but I highly suggest you check out www.ghostories.com. That site has hundreds of stories like the ones presented as answers here. Also, I really like the TV show Ghost Hunters on Sci Fi. It has a lot of cool footage of real ghosts and the business of detecting them. Have fun!

here it is...

One time, a pastor my friend knew moved into a house in town. After only living in the house for a short while weird things began to happen. One time when he was sitting in his chair, he watched a book rose off the bookshelf and just lazily floated about the area. The furniture all began to rumble at random times as well too.
Everywhere he went in that house, he felt errie and as if someone was watching him. So he called a bunch of his friends from church (they were all Christians) and they all prayed inside the house to try and figure out what was happening.
They found the cause...
Investigating the upstairs space (attic) they found a pentagram with a Dungeons and Dragons board game on it. They removed the two and prayed over the house- and things have been normal ever since.

When I was young and only married for about 5 years we got the great idea of having a séance. My friend Barry was there and my wife was acting as the ‘medium’. We were holding hands and trying to call up this ‘vision’ she had been having, where she sees a pair of eyes looking at her. Not long after we began, her eyes went wide open and she leapt from her chair and ran outside!

A few weeks later I was awakened at 3am to see a star of light form on the bathroom door that expanded into the size of the door and there stood a man in the doorway as if the door was open. He was old with a potbelly and gray hair; he stood there watching us. I sat up in the bed and the light sucked back down to a star and vanished.

I never believed in ghost until I move in to a 2 story house with my family from the country in to the city of mesquite. We moved in all the kids wouldn't come near the house. We found out why one we were settled in to our new room. Their was always creaking stairs in the night and in the room me and my 2 sisters slept in their were cold spots. We thought it was air condisoning issues. When we went to bed that night and shut off all the lights stuff started to move in my room. The dresser was slid to the opposite wall. Then the light was turned on in the closet all of the clothes in the closet were pushed to the wall. Me and my sisters screamed my dad ran in to investigate. At that time we say a white figure emerge out of the floor where the dresser was. It moved towards my dad then just vanished like it appeared.
After that night my dad decided to recarpetted the room. My mom did a little digging. She found out that their was a cult who did sacrifices in the room I was staying in and that a old woman had a heart attack and died in that room a few years later. When we redid the room we found that the floor was triple carpeted. A brown layer the on we saw. Then a white one with red spots on it. Finally a black carpet with red all over it. It smelled of dried blood. Once we redid the room the weird stuff stopped. I don't really know why but that really freaked me out. That is why I now believe in ghost.

The lights kind of dimmed in my room just now, and my grandmother popped into my head at the same time (who died about 2 years ago). She was severely demented, and bit into the lightbulb of her bedside lamp - causing a prolonged electrocution episode (and dimming of the lights) - we only thought to check up on her after 10 mins or so of this going on (we live in a big house). Her tongue swelled up really badly, and she ended up dying from respiratory compromise over the following days.
Now her malignant spirit is present in our house : The lights dim OFTEN, and we have all heard choking and gagging sounds at various times, but only when one of us is alone. We also notice smells in the house that can only really be described as burnt flesh (sort of sweetish burnt toast).
I dream about her all the time; shuffling heavily around the house, with heavily cataracted white eyes, but seeming somehow to still see.

My sis and I were driving home from a party late one night. It was raining bad. We both saw an old man standing in the middle of the road about 200 feet in front of us. She slammed on the brakes and we both jumped out to see who was there. (We were young and had no brains LOL) Anyway, turns out the bridge we were about to cross had just washed out and there was no way we would have seen it in time. The "man" was gone. Still creeps us out today.

my friend had a ghost living outside her house. i remember staying the night when i was younger. she had a light post outside her home. and there was always this guy standing there. well we went to open the door and ask what he was doing. he was gone. so we went back inside, and he was there again. so my friend stayed inside and i went out. well i didn't see him and she did. so i walked out to where we seen him standing and just stood there. i just a cold chill on my face. and ran back in the house. she said the guy reached out and touched me. it was so creepy.
