UWB stands for Ultra WideBand. This refers to a very large bandwidth signal, meaning that the signals information is broadcast over a very large frequency range. In a nutshell, think of UWB as a next-generation bluetooth technology, for personal area networks, PANs. But they will have much higher data rates, enabling things like wireless printers and wireless monitors, as opposed to just wireless mice and keyboards. You'd also be able to transfer files from things like PDAs, cell phones, digital cameras, etc without the need to hook up a USB or FireWire cable, etc.
