I know more about pythons than boas, but I do know that all snakes can go for quite a long period of time without food, and there are different reasons that they might refuse to eat. Talk to a vet to make sure that she is healthy, and what he recommends. It could be pregnancy, shedding issues, seasonal issues, illness... Any of a number of things. I had a ball python which didn't eat for 9 months after I got her, then suddenly started feeding and I never had a problem after that. Ball pythons are known to be like that though... Anyway, good luck. What kind of boa, BTW?

I have a 6ft rainbow boa who will not eat until after she has pooped (sorry) from her last eating. If this is the case with yours, you could try putting her in a bowl of warm water to speed things up. Also, if the house temp is cooler this could slow her metabolism as she might be trying to hibernate, which would also make her grumpy. Don't worry too much if she's not lethargic, though. Princess Buttercup : )has gone 2 months without eating.

dont panic boas can some times go off there food for long periods of time as long as she is fit and well i wouldnt worry to much just yet, just keep trying her every so often. check that all the temps etc in the tank are fine, has she plenty of places to hide away if she needs to as she might just be a bit stressed

Yes if she has been with male boas she may be pregnant. Change in attitude also could be due to pregnancy, if she starts getting fat get ready for some little ones, you should take her to a reptile-experienced vet to make sure something isn't wrong with her though.

I once spoke to someone who had a Boa who didnt eat for 12 months and was fine. Apparently its not uncommon for Boa's to refuse food for 6mth, so try not to worry 2 much just yet.

She is wild caught and the odds are not in your favor. NEVER BUY UNTIL YOU SEE THEM FEED. #1 rule. You broke it, and now you have a sick dying reptile. Boa? They love birdies, try feeding her some hatchling chickens or quail- this is probably your only option at this point. I suspect she is a red tail. Very pissy snakes, and biting is a good sign, but try feeding her something more natural like birds. It worked for me.

sometimes snakes can get moody or fatigued when they're about to shed their skin... it's a painful process for them. I would contact a vet or a wildlife center if I were you... that's too long without eating. She needs to eat.
