I love the 80s...(as the VH1 shows are called!) Ferris Buellar's Day Off, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, The Goonies, Cyndi Lauper, Prince, those metal hair bands, Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA" album, Duran Duran...let's not forget those one-hit wonders..."99 Luft Balloons", "Video Killed the Radio Star," "Whip It," and "Oh Mickey!" The TV shows, too!
I think that recent song, "1985" says it all. I can't remember at the moment who sings it. It goes, "but she's still preoccopied with 1985." Then there's the 80's themed movie "The Wedding Singer," a cool flash-back to the 80's. Besides classic rock, 80's is my favorite music genre.

The Blues Brothers continues to be a classic movie to this day. Not to mention it holds a World Record for most cop cars crashed/damaged in a movie if each one were considered new and unused previously in the movie.
As for music I love alot of stuff from the 80's but not all of it. But I especially like the birth of the new age of punk that took place in bands like Bad Religion and all those southern-CA bands. Without those bands I don't know where modern punk would be.

Obviously a lot of people are, look at the resurgence of all things 80's, not to mention the neverending I <3 the 80's programs on VH1, among other things. Today's young adults were all 80's children, it only makes sense that we would enjoy the decade's pop culture!

Funny. I like that movie everytime it comes on. Their are many good movies from the 80's, but the actual 80's was not all that great, ok. Live in the present is the best thing and enjoy the past.

it's the '2 decade syndrome'
for some reason, there is always a 20-30 year nostalgia.
In the '90s it was the '70s....in the 80s, the 60s and so on.

nope, lived through it. once was enough. BUT so much excellent music was made in the 80's that I still listen to today. As a matter of fact most of my favorite bands stopped recording in the late 80's early 90's and it's a bummer.

I love the 80's. The Breakfast Club rocks along with Sixteen Candles, pretty much all the John Hughes' movies. The music always takes me back....neon socks, jelly shoes, black rubber bracelets, Ralph Macchio, Duran Duran...all great memories!!!
