If you start that essay with that question I think you better rethink college.

I think you mean you're wondering whether to ask a friend to proof-read your essay.
First of all, the SAT essays are not prepared, they give you the writing prompt for the first and last time when you're taking the test and you have twenty or so minutes to write an essay.
If you meant a COLLEGE essay, then yes, you should definitively have someone read your drafts and tell you his/her opinions on it. And if it be a a friend, much better, since then he/she won't steal your ideas.

We don't really understand what you are asking. Do you need us to suggest essay topics? How about The Effects of Global Warming on Arctic Wildlife? Or write an essay about a great humanitarian such as Mother Teresa, the Dali Lama, Nelson Mandela, or Ghandi.
