how did u meet your boyfriend or husband?

My parents & moved to New Mexico from Illinois and the day we moved in there was a guy next door and the first thing he said was "Oh my God, there's a Squatty Body (I'm only 4'9") moving in next door." We became friends (we were 12 & 15). He moved away and we kept in touch. Both of us got married to other people (he was divorced) and got back in touch in 1992. I was going through a divorce and he had a job offer in NM. We got married in 1995 and are very happy!

Our best friend introduced us. What's funny is, she was watching a video of me and my ex husband getting married. My current boyfriend walked in and saw me and was pretty much speechless. He fell head over heels in love just from my picture! Once he got over the initial shock, he couldn't quit asking our friend about me. lol Our friend told me that I have an admirer (I was still married but planned on leaving in about a month--couldn't before then due to finances). I told her I was willing to meet him so I could have another friend since I was going to need all the friends I could get once I left. After I left my ex a month later, we started officially dating and have been together ever since! That was a year ago that we met and I have never been happier in my life!

I'm a geek. I sat across him in my first college level latin course. We kept looking at each other, and I ended up asking him for help because I didn't understand what the professor wanted. We'd meet before class and talk. We'd walk together to his next class, or I'd walk out with him to his job. (He works for parking on campus) After that, he invited me to his history honor society dinner. That night he asked me out. Five months after we met. We're still together. Six years and going strongly. ^-^

I was bored one Sunday. I called my friend. She and another friend wanted to go to the lake to swim but had no way to get there. I borrowed my brother's car and took them. All the way there they kept talking about the dreamy life guard which they proceeded to point out immediately when we arrived. I wasn't in a bathing suit so I was sitting on a blanket when the life guard started walking toward me picking up bottles. When he got to me he started making small talk and then asked if I would like to go out. I told him a phony name, but gave him my picture with a phone number on the back. I was surprised when I heard from him almost immediately. We went out and on the third date he asked me to marry him. Two weeks later he took me to a jewelry store to buy my rings. As we were walking back to the car my mind was reeling since he still knew me by a made up name. I told him I had something to tell him. He said, "What". I said, "My name is not Sherry Lavon. He asked, "What is it?" I told him my real name and he said, "Your name is Sherri!" We were married 5months later. That was 50 years ago in November and my name is "Sherri" to this day!
