I just bought a Creative Zen 1Gig MP3 player Iam happy with loudness of the fm radio but I downloaded a couple of songs from my cd player and the sound was really low, I am thinkin about returning it and buying a new one but if I can make the sound on this one better and louder that would be good, I ride a motorcycle so I want something that I can really hear, ya have any suggestions? much appreciated

the software that came with your zen should have a record level adjustment bar, just like my last mp3 player the creative slim. i also noticed that the more you compress your mp3's the lower the output volume so you might wanna check that outr too. maintain 128 kbps.good luck

Zen's are just as good as ipods when it comes to playback volume, im sure that you will be able to alter the volume of the music file within the software you get with the zen. I have an ipod myself so i only know how to do it with itunes and truth be told the volume isn't ear bleeding with the ipod well not compared to my trusty old minidisc player.

Try some better headphones if you are using the pair you got with the zen, some good advice to all those ipodders who still havent parted with their white and grey pieces of junk!
