why hasnt my belly button piercing heald??

ITS BEEN 2 1/2 YEARS THAT I'VE HAD MY PIERCING. WHATS THE DEAL??

Jesus, rubbing alcohol...........DON'T.

1. You are allergic to the metal that your piercer put in. Try gold or titanium.

2. The waistband of your pants is touching it. Don't let anything touch your piercing until it is healed.

3. Belly piercings can take up to 6-8 weeks to heal. Give it time.

4. You're not keeping it clean. Clean the piercing twice a day, in the shower. Soak the crusty stuff off of the ring and remove it. Soap the area well and turn your ring through the hole a few times to get the soap in there, then rinse it the same way. Use whatever your piercer recommended for an antibiotic ointment.

5. Some people's never heal. You may have to take it out.

6. Don't play with it, or touch it with hands that are not freshly washed. Leave it ALONE unless you're cleaning it.

Alchohol will not do the job, nor peroxide. Try neosporin or something along those lines. Honey works well too.

The jewelry may be too short or you are allergic to the metal. Thats what my piercer told me when my eyebrow wasnt healing up after 3 years. So, she switched me to Nobium ( I think she said its a hypo-allergenic metal ) and its not healed.

If its red and hurts a bit, then do hot compresses. It helped so much in my healing process. All you do is get a paper towel and put hot water on it ( the hottest you can stand without burning ) and sit it on there until it gets cooled down. Then repeat several times a day.

I don't know how much time you have given it, but, make sure it isn't infected. Then keep it dry and clean. If you don't see any improvement, see a doctor. Put some rubbing alcohol on it.
