My friends have bought so many fancy expensive phones since then and they've all broken. Have I just been lucky or was the phone a good model?

I'm tempted to buy a new phone but I'm curious to see how long I can make this one last!

I should also say that I've never had to buy a new battery. I use it everyday and carry it everywhere. The only time I switch it off is if I'm at a performance.

Well Nokia's are known to last very long My Nokia 3100 lived forever until my friend drove over it with my car. You can switch phones but why waste your money if the Nokia works just fine.

I reckon you are lucky! I have had to get a new phone about every 12 months cos they have broken. I've been lucky with my last couple though, I passed my last one on to my son after a year cos I wanted a camera phone! Then the new one fell in a bucket of water an still worked. But now it has lost sound! I think that is silly. It falls in a bucket of water and it's fine, as soon as a baby slobbers on it, it stops working! I think how good your phone is, and how long it lasts is directly proportional to whether you can afford a new one. Or possibly how difficult it would be to contact all your people again.

No record. My Nokia 3595 still going strong and I love it. My battery is unbelieveable. I'm in sales (over a 1000 minutes a month) and it goes for days before I recharge. What a workhorse phone. To hell with style and fashion, it just keeps on going and going and going......

Nokias, especially the older ones do have a rep for lasting a very long time. What sort of performance? Are you a musician?

its the phone some phones you can drop throw around and not be nice to and they will still work
by the way expensive phones are expensive because they are "cutting edge" which means they are more easy to break because of their fancy and complex workings

sidenote this also extends to other consumer products as well i have known a trumpet to be "indestuctible" as well as my ten year old backpack.
