If war or cancer could be 'solved' by quicker and more universal communication, then so-be-it.
But since this is not the case, the internet is just a tool, like the telephone or TV. For 'effective' communication or collaboration, you need 'trust', and confidence, which the internet does not provide between two separate parties, in two different countries, cultures and languages.
But you will be able to watch "I love Lucy" at 4:37am, or have the computer 'learn' who you are and whisper 'sweet-nothings' in your ear, -custom made for you.
