Ok, so my ex and I broke up about a month ago. Things weren't working anymore, we weren't happy, with ourselves or each other, and it came to an end. We dont really speak much anymore, though things are amicable. I started surrounding myself wtih friends, old people from high school that I had lost touch with, so on and so forth, and just having a good time. I'm pretty much over my ex, I'll never be completely over him, because you never forget your first love. I have come to the point where I know that I wont ever be with him again, because I'm happy now. I wasnt before. So, I met this guy through a friend. He's so sweet, I feel extremely comfortable with him, and I can talk to him like I havent been able to talk to anyone in a long time. He asked me out on a date, and I accepted, and I had a wonderful time. He asked me out again tongiht, and I'm going. here's the problem. i feel a little guilty, because it's only been a month since my last and longest relationship ended... should i?

Don't feel guilty. Get up and have a fantastic time with this new guy. You aren't mourning, sweetie, you just broke up with someone! Enjoy yourself and do what makes you happy! Never feel guilty for doing something that makes you feel good!

As long as you go at a pace that's comfortable for you, you should not feel guilty about going out with someone new. If you go too fast in a new relationship, it can, a lot times, become more about just compensating for any loss you feel about not being with someone. It is natural to feel some guilt, since you've been single again only for a short time, but having fun in ways that doesn't involve your ex is an important part of you learning to feel more comfortable with and to continue to develop into the new person you are becoming.

So, just have fun...but, make sure you don't rush anything, either!

He probably wants to keep that line open so that if he ever needs someone to jump to, he can jump to you. A lot of guys keep talking to exes and it's only because they want a back up just in case. My advice, he's an ex for a reason right? Move on and don't answer him.. too much drama.

No of course you shouldn't. If you know there is no getting back together than you need to move on when its good for you. No reason what so ever to feel guilty.
