You should admit the truth!! You want to be friends with him in the irrational hope that, one day, he'll consider you worth his time (day or night) again.
In my opinion the fact that he behaved in that way towards you made you feel a little insecure and dropped your self-estime, so you think it's essential to be somewhat linked to him!
If you want a piece of advice, when a relationship has reached that stage it's time for the dropped party to regain her dignity, close all doors behind her, and look for someone else who will consider her worth his time round the clock.
If you think a little bit with cold mind you'll realize that being friends implies 2 parties agreeing on that, and yours doesn't seem the case. He could even go around telling friends you're clingy and sticky, worsening the situation.
Also, and this is a very personal opinion, i don't think it's possible to be friends with an EX, despite all what others may say or witness, the friendship is always spoilt in one way or the other.

I do wish you good luck!

Ric

A "Friend" does not hurt you. THey respect you, care about you and value you as a person. there's thousands and thousdans of people outhere, why are you going to dwell and fuss over just one person who seems to be a jerk and doesnt give you the time? Give yourself respect, get up and move on... be glad he's out of ur life

Don't try to be friends with somebody that feels that way about you. Move on with your life . There is a guy out there that will think the sun rises and sets on you.....find him, and put your thoughts and energy there! Don't waste it on your ex.
