I have seen this kind of nonsense before and no doubt will see it again. I remember many, many years ago when several of the planets were aligning in a conjunction, how people thought the end of the world was coming. Then the year 2000 brought out a series of end of the world nuts. Now this 060606 thing comes along, when my digital clock has been saying this twice a day for the last ten years and nothing has happened. They do sell a lot of books though, and the hype was excellent for launching the newest version of The Omen.

I don't feel stupid at all. I never thought any thing would happen except that a dumb remake of a dumb movie would come out, which it did.
The only thing of note that happened to me is that I left my car in the street instead of the driveway and it got egged. I thought maybe it was a 666 thing or because I have pagan bumper stickers or both, but then a friend who lives around the corner said there's been kids egging on her street for a few weeks. So they just migrated.

I'm sure that, now that it's 6/7/06, people will just go about finding some new stupid thing to obsess about. And guaranteed - these people don't feel stupid. They feel lucky, or saved, or blessed, or whatever.

They'll feel blessed that their God or whoever has saved them. Then they will go on to obess about something else. I personally had a very good day. It was the last day of school and we had a party. So, it's all good!

For everyone who was worried, their answer is probably: god watched over us. You create a false assumption, get everyone into believing it's true, and when nothing happens you give god credit for being a kind, merciful, all knowing, all powerful entity. What a bunch of crap.
