Bobby Charlton is top, think on 49.
Second is Gary Lineker, then Jimmy Greaves, then Michael Owen in 4th. Owen is only 26 so should be able to get the record if he keeps fit.

Bobby Charlton scored 49 in 106 appearances, followed by Gary Lineker with 48, but a better goals to games ratio, having only made 80 appearances. However, if you want to know who has the best goals to games ratio (having made at least 20 appearances), then Steve Bloomer comes top with 28 in 23 appearances...more than a goal a game on average....not likely to ever be beaten!
(And further to Rose Oniell's answer, Wayne Rooney has not broken his ankle - it's his metatarsal, and he's been declared fit to play).
(And furious8888 - Alan Shearer only scored 30, in 63 games).

It's Bobby Charlton with 49, then Lineker with 48, then Greavsie with 44 - I think. Then Owen with 36?
