You use them to advance to the next level, once your on the next level you can answer more questions than you could on the last level, and then you go to the next level when you get enough points and so on, but you don't get a prize or something material. I don't know what you do when you get to the last level!

I use them for asking questions and getting one of the "amazing" rewards from Yahoo... When you reach level 2 you get a Yahoo Answers Wallpaper (!)
