Your pressure depends on your age and lifestyle. If you are an athlete, then it's often the case that you are going to have low pressure. If you are very young, then you probably will have low pressure, too. It's better to have low than high pressure, but what really matters is whether you have any "bad" symptoms, such as, tiredness, fatigue, insomnia, paleness, a tendency to faint... or not. If these things plague you, then and only then you should try to do something about it: first of all, a better diet (including animal protein and a little salt) and better sleep. Exercise yourself lightly (walking in the woods is excellent for a start) and try to avoid all kinds of stress.

That's really strange they wouldn't let you give blood, but maybe that's just their protocols. However, 118/72 is NOT low blood pressure in any way, especially for a 16 year old. I'm 21 and my BP runs anywhere from high 90s/high 60s to low 110s/70s, and that has never been considered low blood pressure. Less than 90/60 is typically considered hypotension (for an adult 18 or over), and 120/80 is average (for an adult 18 or over). In my sources is a chart of average BPs in pediatrics (under 18 years old). You can see you are perfectly in the normal range.

My blood pressure is what my doctor calls "on the low side of normal". I was told not to worry unless it went too low. Then problems could arise. My doctor didn't say what problems but I guess if high blood pressure can be bad, low pressure can not be too good either. Check with a doctor to make sure that it's actually too low or just on the low side of normal. And discuss the conerns with him/her. Only they can give you the full information.

Low blood pressure isn't as bad as high bloof pressure. It isn't nessaceraly bad, but it need a bit of mediacal attention, that's all. Although, people with low blood pressure, tend to live longer than people with normal or high blood pressure. There is barely anything to woory about, just keep an eye on your blood pressure as time goes by.
