Had the colonies lost the rebellion things would have been very different indeed.
First, keep in mind the country would look very different than it does today. The country would have stopped at the Mississippi river. The British would NOT have bought anything from France, so the Louisiana Purchase would have been a non-issue. Of course the French Revolution would not have happened for many years. The King Louie XIV would not have all but bankrupted his country helping out the colonies to win the revolution. Also we would not have Texas as a part of the colonies, nor would we have Florida... well possibly Florida, Spain was looking to dump it but it held very little that the English would have wanted. English citizens would not have gone over to help settle Texas, its just not done. The Crown wouldn't have allowed it. There would be a sizable number of British troops permanently garrisoning the countryside to counter any further thoughts about rebelling. Not to mention the execution of all signers of the document of 1776 (LOL). They'd have been strung up like the traitor's that they were. Of cource some might have escaped to other countires to carry on the fight in exile. But a great many of the Colonies greatest minds and most passionet person's would be gone and erased from our countrys history. I will not go into they're many contrabutions that would have never been made.
That picture painted, we would not have fought the civil war. Britain abolished slavery sometime in the 1830's, so that would be a non-issue. As a result there are a great many things that would either have never been developed or developed much later in a different place. Just think of all the things that Benjamin Bannaker invented which would never happen or not happen solely because of him. Our country would develop and have many natural resources. Oil in Pennsylvania, lumber from all over, coal deposits from all over the mountains ranges. But importantly no large gold or silver deposits. Those were all out west. The gold in the Black Hills would be undiscovered and still belong to the Indians. California's gold would belong to Mexico. As would Nevada's silver. The French would have given trouble to the Colonies by helping arm the Indian tribes on the border to conduct raids into America (I suppose that would have been the eventual name for the American Colonies, maybe maybe not?) as the French and British really don't like each other (understatement.. lol) at that time. Mexico would have won their war of independence from Spain, but Spain would have sent in freash troops in as many numbers as possible. They will not give up gold deposits as it would be they're last gasp at being a world power. They'd squandered the vast wealth from South America so by the time of the late 1700's they were fading from the world stage. A freash fuzion of gold from Mexico would help save them. Alaska would have stayed in Russia's hands.. who know's maybe the wealth from the oil might have helped put off or made the Revoultion there a moot point. The Tzar was on the cusp of making changes that would have helped give rights to the common person there. What they would have fought for would have been given to them already. The world stage would be altered in so many ways that the end results are very hard to guess at as we get into more modern times.
I could go on for an entire book about this. I think that somebody has. Anyway, assuming that no other attempt at independence from England is made. Then the American Colonies would look and feel very different by today’s modern age. I've only touched a few of the larger points in history. The country would have been worse off because of it I think. So many of the things we take for granted would be either gone, altered or some such to make life as we know it totally different. Tea for the main drink? I don't think. Besides, I love coffee and I'd probly be a proud member of the Son's of Liberty secret society. So that's it in a nutshell. God Save the Queen ! ! !

I don't think that anything would be different.
Logically, the USA would have become independent sooner rather than later - it had enough natural resources. It was inevitable.
The UK would not have had the power - especially post 1875 - to have ruled the USA at all. It would have been like the tail wagging the dog - and an especially large and fat one at that!

If Britian had won the American Revolutionary war then the greatest men of the age would have been strung up for treason.

Can't picture myself saying "God save the Queen".
What does it cost to support the royal family?
Of course we have our own elected families to support.
