Give us something to compare with then. Yeah it is excessive but then the Scots don't have world class teams in anything.

I can sympathise with you. I am English and I am fed up of hearing about 1966 and all that. I wish the popular media would get a bloody life and live in the present.
One reason England haven't won a tournament for 40 years is because we English are always living in the past. Yes, Hurst scored a hat-trick. Yes, we beat Germany, and yes, the ball DID cross the line (in mid-sodding-air if people look at the shot in ultra slow motion) but that was eons ago.
We have to move on. Find new heroes. You don't hear Germany pontificating about 1974. You don't hear Brazil carping about 1970. England have got to stop digging up 1966.
If we focus on the present team and REALLY get behind them, really help them build momentum, then they could really achieve ULTIMATE success over the next month...but we can only do that if we finally lay Ramsey's wingless wonders to rest!
Scotland have had some poor results over the past thirty years, but there will be a reckoning soon. You are due an excellent result sometime.

Yes, I feel for you! I'm English, but don't follow England because of all the stupid nationalism. I have Irish ancestry, so follow the Republic (and, yes, before anyone comments, they were like an England 2nd eleven under Jack Charlton but things have changed!).
The thing that really bugs me is all those ridiculous flags that people put on their cars. As someone said on the radio today, where does it stop?
I'm supporting Italy in this World Cup...but, having said all that, I'll still be happy if England do win it. (Although that won't happen - whatever the media say, they're not good enough by a long long way).

I know its a lot of crap because SCOTLAND actually bet Englandin 1967 3-2 so you's wernt that great the 3rd goal wasnt even a goal same old England always cheating ! who will win the World Cup - Anyone but England ! we dont hear the end of '66 just now so we wouldnt hear the end of it for the rest of our lives if they bloody ever won it again which they wont . COME ON THE GERMANY !

I actually get tired of hearing all the Scotland crap, Scotland didnt qualuify for euro bla bla bla, Scotland didnt qualify for world cup bla bla bla, Moldova 1 - 1 Scotland bla bla bla.
Actually England couldnt handle belarus either, so I cant be too mean. Best of luck in 2008!

My wife does she's scottish and I am english, if we have kids they are going to be english, not 50/50.
Got to make them think they can be winners.
The scottish, irish and welsh are just jealous, they will not admit they would love to be English.

oh wait somethings coming to me...isn't that, that team that hasn't qualified for a major tournment in 8 years, soon to be more.
I also believe thats the same team that has crappy Fletcher as its captain (hahahahahaha) you guys suck...thats why you have to listen to other teams talk.
