It has been 4 years since a 6 month relationship and I still find myself laying down at night thinking about her. I don't know why she stands out??? She was not my first, not the one I married, not the prettiest but close to it, and not the last. I had been with 11 women before her and 20 after. I have tried relationships since with no luck. Even dated multiple woman at one time and one night stands to rid myself of the feelings but that didn't help. I did, which probably didn't help, become her best friend and spend time with her after the break up but I usually do that with any ex. I never burn a bridge. She has since within the last year gotten married, pregnant, and has moved 600-700 miles away. Still with all that has happen between both of us I still think of her daily and miss her dearly. What in the world can I do that I haven't?

maybe you are comparing other women that you have met to her? look deep into the relationship and see the good and the bad. what made you break up? start looking at new women with your eyes wide open. I too have been there to a degree. good luck

I don't really have an answer, but I've been going through the same thing really. I had a boyfriend about 2 years ago that I only went out with for a month and a half. I've never felt the same about anyone else, though I have a serious boyfriend right now. The only thing I can think of to justify the way I still feel about him is that he is the only person I've TRULY fell in love with, and possibly ever again. Sorry I have no good advice. :(

I was in you boat once. I thought I could not live without her. It was so difficult letting go. I think I felt sorry for myself and let myself go for over a year, then, I decided to just let go. Why should I torture myself over a person that did not want me. My pity party had to end if I wanted my sanity. After I did, it took several months for me to meet Miss Right! I went nice and slow and today I have been married to her for 26 years! I'm glad I decided to grow up. When I think I might have missed the opportunity to meet my wife, I shudder.
