The best tip you can ever have is to wear whatever you like on your face, within reason of course. What I mean is that, another person's definition of a good 'color' for you may not actually look good. You wear what you like whether or not someone else agrees. I believe a woman can wear a number of different shades/colors and still look stunning. Be adventurous and try different techniques and colors. You'll be surprised by what you come up with.

Go to www.covergirl.com and there is a questionnaire you can take to see what colors will look best for you. There is also a virtual model that you can put the makeup on. They also have consultants on the site you can chat live with to aid you with any questions you might have. Also, their makeup is so much more reasonably priced than Mary Kay. Covergirl has everything Mary Kay has but you don't pay the high price.

I would suggest going to a department store make-up counter and talking with one of the advisors. I usually look for the one who I think has the best make-up. It is their job to give you a make-over. I like Lancome but alot of young ladies like Clinique. It is a little more affordable. Even if you don't buy from them you can use their tips and shop at a drug store.
I say anything goes. One thing to remember, if you want an 'eye opening look' wear the opposite of your eye color. Brown eyes wear a blue or green color. (Blue eye-shadow is ok if used correctly.) Blue eyes wear a brown or gold color.
Personally, I stick to the bronzey look. Its simple and a more natural look.

First, I wouldn't wear too much. It all depends on the color of your eyes. I have blue/green eyes and I wear brown eye shadow. It's all very simple and don't try and hide who you are. Depending on your complexion for the summer go with pinks and red with a bronze effect. It depends on your skin. But you can’t go wrong with earth tones, browns, tans, peaches. Or light pinks. Also make sure you blend don’t leave lines. Lighter is always better.

For colors try the Mary Kay Virtual Makeover at http://www.marykay.com/daryn_anderson/whatsnew/vmo-index-01.aspx?tab=whatsnew Choose the model that best represents your eye coor and skin tone. You will see a lot of colors for eyes, cheeks and lips. Mix and match them to create the look that's right for you. It's a lot of fun too! Once you've done that check out the Application Tips section on the same site.

If you want to define or make stand out (your eyes or your lips) Use darker colors in outline and lighter shade inside. I like buying from Mary Kay products but they are little expensive.

As for myself, I have had bad experience with liquid make ups. I ordered bare minerals that you see on tv. and it works great, it's easy to apply, and looks natural. you dont' end up with your face being blotchy and different colors.. check them out.
