Yes. It is difficult to orchestrate but in time things will be better integrated and the economies will benefit. Having one currency in most EU countries is already a huge success. A united Europe is a good answer to the US's power.

There are people who think so. Back in the early 1950s when I was a boy, I used to listen to a radio preacher, Garner Ted Armstrong, who said that a "united Europe" was one of the signs of the "End Times" and was prophesied in the Book of Revelation. At that time, the United Nations was only a few years old, and nothing in the geo-politics of the day even hinted at the possibility of the European Union. But there was Garner and his father before him (Herbert Armstrong) who, as early as 1934, called a united Europe a prophecy and a sign of the Apocalypse.

The EU would be good if we could kick out the Council of Europe (aka The National Governments Appoint Their Best Mates) and give the balance of power to the parliment (aka The People We Can Vote For And Actually Kick Out).

An united Europe would be good if it could oppose the US as a superpower - if Tony Blair paid attention to his European allies rather than his US dog trainer, Iraq could have been tacked in a much superior way. If it's just set up as a feeding trough for disgraced former ministers, though, it would be bad.

Its good for Europe, but not for the United States, because of the euro and things. And it is realistic, they have something called the European Union, which started as some countries sharing coal and steel.

It's good if you don't like having to show your passport everywhere and constantly exchange currency.

The Euro appears to now be stronger than the dollar.

Maybe it depends on who is looking at it. to me it's a neutral thing because I don't feel threatened by Europe nor elated by the Euro's success.

Sure. Clump those jokers close enough together and you can take them all out with one shot.

Depends on what you mean, really.
It sounds nice and pretty but I don't think its realistic.
