It seems like a lot of people hate Americans. Is it because of the 911 conflict? I'm from Canada and I hear nothing but negative things about Americans. Let me know.

Americans from the USA tend to think that they are to be served by everyone else in the world. They have been taught from birth they are the best and only country in the world that is worth living in. Most of them, not all, talk down to others from other countries. They are very ignorant when it comes to knowledge of other countries because they do not want to learn about them.
How do I know this? I am an American and have lived in and visited in and have seen first hand what most of them do. I currently live in Canada, a great country and in many ways better than the USA especially when it comes to being friendly.
Does the answer above give you a clue? That shows you how ignorant many of them are...the answers below show you the same...I am sorry that Americans think they are the only ones who do anything for others around the world they aren't and those from other countries soon learn that Americans are giving up their freedoms more and more every day...I am sorry all of you but it is the truth...travel outside of the USA sometimes and observe!

Its because of our governments need to bully every-one into being like us. American people are good ,hard working, honest people. No one has done more for the world than us as far as coming to the aid of people when needed like the tsunami in the Pacific,the earth quake in Pakistan,hurricane Katrina here the list goes on . We are a generous caring nation. Majority of Americans don't agree or support the actions by our government and President bush and are feed up and ready for a change.

i think its mostly because unlike europeans and some other nationalities, americans are not as likely to travel the globe, speak more than one language or worry about what other people think of us so we appear ignorant and uncaring.
i'd bet that if you visited the usa you'd find there are just as many jerks here as there are in canada, italy, siberia or wherever. and there are just as many nice people, too.
