I'm 28 and just developed lactose intolerance. Took the piils and had a (semi large) milkshake and still got sick. Guess the milkshake was a bit much to start with. Can anyone who has this condition tell me how much dairy they can eat with the pills? How have you handled this condition and what suggestions do you have concerning lactose free foods? I purchased soy milk and it's ok, a little sweet but it will work. I'm kinda scared of the soy yogurt though.

Thanks!

I am reasking this question because I need more answers. :-)

I've too have just recently developed lactose intolerance, and I know how much of a pain it can be. I've been experimenting with these once daily pills called Digestive Advantage for Lactose Intolerance and I've had pretty good results so far. But I have had to begin taking two pills daily instead of one.

If you're already taking medication everyday like me, then taking these pills shouldn't be much of a problem.

You can find more info about them at their website: http://ganedenbiotech.com/index.php?page=DALI

In one way or an other you have lost the enzymes which beaks down the lactose. It is "normal" that people loses this ability by age. But all children can break it down. Most of the people in Scandinavia are able to break down the lactose during their whole life and some people in Africa like the Masai people, but it is due to that they drink milk the whole life. It might be possible to recover this ability, if you start up with smaller do-sis of milk and and go a little bit higher week after week. Do not expect miracles, but it is worth a try. White tablets can´'t solve everything.

I am lactose intolerant. Intolerant means intolerant. Why are you being so damn stubborn. Just lay off the milk.

Milk is for babies. Baby cows at that.

Know that at first you have to take it slow, even though you know you can take pills, that doesn't mean that it is going to fix it right away. After a while, you will know what your intake can be
