i am 5'3 and have an athletic build - my arms and legs are nice and toned, but i have a wider waste. anyway, what clothing stlye would look good? what kind of shirts/pants/shoes? my pants are usually too long and dragging and my shirts are either too long or too short. i am soooo confused. btw i am 20 years old and soon to be a teacher, so i need both a casual and professional look.

Hi - I love those flowy babydoll tanks that are popular right now. They're somewhat tight around the top, and then they flow out from under your chest - super cute, especially if you don't like wearing tight tops. To show off your legs and appear taller - go for heels or wedges paired with those cool new shorts that cut off right above the knee. These looks can be casual or professional depending on the accessories you add (for work: a little button down cardigan over the top. for casual: a higher heel and maybe a glitzy belt...)
Hope this helps!

I have very short legs and the key is buying pants in short. Try the Limited or Express. They usally have very nice casual/professional clothing at good prices. As far as shirts go, try button up shirts. You can find these at the same stores, they are usually slimming in darker colors.

If your pants are too long get boot cut jeans or flared because they are made to be long . try to get shirts that are kind of poofed out on the waste part of your body so no one will ever know that your waste is kinda wide. you can always get your shirts and pants talored. and if some pants are too long use capri`s instead!

Do you have Trinny and Susannah in the US?! They have saved us womens lives-in the fashion and style sense anyway! They are on the BBC website www.bbc.co.uk or buy a book from ebay! Most of us have them but don't like to admit it! They recommend for different shapes, occasions and colours that suit etc!

Try avoiding belts, they make the torso look shorter. Also don't where any stripes across the body, where them parallel, it helps you look longer.
