I cheated on my boyfriend but he has a past of not taking break ups well, infact, he was put in a mental hospital at one point. Should i tell him or no?

If you are honest (which I can't imagine you are since you cheated) then tell him. But if you are deceitful then don't tell him. On the other hand if you are looking to a future with him and this was a mistake then you may want to consider some things before you tell him. Will he cause you or himself physical harm? Do you love him? Does he love you? Did you cheat cause the relationship is over?
Figure the deep stuff out before you tell him. If you tell him. Then go from there based on what you know about him mentally and emotionally.

First off sweety, do you really want to be in a relationship with someone in that state of mind, and with a past such as that? Think about this okay? Do you picture yourself marrying him? If yes, then maybe try and convince him to join some kind of counseling program and maybe talk to him about what his feelings are, because it might have been something from his past that is making him be like that. If you don't see yourself with him long term, then let him go as nicely as you can, perhaps staying Friends with him or something. Good luck.

Why are you staying involved with a person that has difficult issues to resolve. I don't mean to sound mean but it would be better if this guy was given lots of space to figure things out. Alone. Don't tell him but don't get too involved either.
Don't let his problems become yours. You may not have noticed but they already have.

You have to be honest to him and yourself it will eat you up inside if you keep the secret in for to long.But call the mental hospital before you tell him.

Tell him it is not fair for him to be in the dark.. but..
when u do tell him make sure there is someone with u because he might go nuts.. and if he goes to the loony bin then so be it. don't be with someone and lie to them just because they are nutty.

well If you don't like him, then tell him cause otherwise you'll be stuck with him forever, and it'll come around eventually
