No...that would never work. Originally the United States was founded upon Christian principles, look how long that lasted. The puritans had fled to Holland, then left there because they feared the "Dutchification" of their children, and because they thought that the government had too much control of Christianity, I guess it was similar to legalism. The government cannot force a religion upon the people, though some have predicted that they will try in the "end times". The separation of church and state does not say that the church cannot influence the state, but it does, however, say that the state may not control the church. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

There's no need to become an Islamic state. All that's needed is for the West to stop propping up puppet governments, move their troops out, and enact fair trade. Let's face it, nobody here would accept Saudi military bases on their home soil, so it's no surprise many in the Islamic world consider the US bases an humiliation.
Anyway, all of those moves are perfectly fair and reasonable, but would involve some personal sacrifices from Joe Public, and actually stop terrorism so the current power grab by our glorious leaders would have to stop, so good luck ever seeing that happen.

Uhh, let me think.. no. We just should get out of the middle east's buisiness, and we have to stop racism against the Islamic community. That would be ridiculous to say "Everyone, become Islamic so we can stop terrorism." Hah, that would only create terrorism from the Christians, Jews, and athiests who don't want to convert.

The whole point of the US is that it has no official religion (although voters seem to not mind a shift away from that fundamental tenet of our country). People are welcome to be islamic all they want. Besides, various islamic sects are killing each other now more than other religions, so no, it wouldn't stop terrorism.
To respond to RightonRight (gag me!), separation of church and state is not in the constitution, its a statute in the Supreme Court. The judicial branch upholds it; they got it from interpretations of the bill of rights. If you actually look at ALL the source material, you'd learn a thing or two. But selective hearing is a specialty of the conservative right.

What good would that do? The terrorist are killing Muslims more than Christions and Jews. They love to kill their own women and children best. Check the casualties in Iraq. Christians and Jews are not in as much danger as fellow MUSLIM. The little cowarda just want to kill and criple.

Iraqi Muslims are being killed by radical muslim terrorists at a clip of about a 1,000 per month. What makes you think Muslim terrorists don't kill Muslims?
