the way to greet in quebec: say: ahhh, bonjour, comment ca va mon ami(e)??!!! pull your friend close to you, hug tightly, back away and plant a kiss on each cheek. or if a more "familiar friend" ;-> a big one right on the kisser!

Some people will only get hugs. Some will got both. And the real special ones straight to the kiss.

I hear some people kiss first but I like a hug to get in a good spot for my kiss.

I love to hug, kissing is nice too but a hug just makes you feel so good.

I"m very....how you say......tactile. When I see someone I know, I immediately hug them as an automatic response. If they are a dear friend, yes a kiss follows. Hugs and kisses are wonderful, unless you are cynical about PDA. (Then a shake of the hands will do :) )
