Are we on our way down, or on our way up?

The world is the world, and people are people. Human nature hasn't changed one shred since the beginning of recorded history. There are good moments and bad in history. But, in the whole history of recorded time, there has always been violence and war and oppression and anger and such.
The world may or may not get better, but the point is to make our own little worlds better. Our little worlds of our families and friends and neighbors. That is really as much as we can do.
