The issue is this: illegal is illegal. If you are in this country illegally you must be deported. Ignorance comes from the lack of understanding. But when you consider the number of Mexicans in this country illegally you have to agree that something must be done. We just can't have undocumented peoples receiving benefits, not paying taxes, committing crimes (not saying all of them do), or working.

Now I'm no racist but I am tired of Mexicans coming to this country not speaking English. What is up with that? I know Mexicans who have been here for 35years and can't say one complete sentence in English. How terrible is that!!!

And running to the United States is not going to solve the real problem in Mexico. Instead of running here to march and fight for the right to be here how about Mexicans march against the USA to get out of their country so they can make a decent living in the homeland. Fight the Mexican government which does nothing but terrorizes it's people. Fight the American businesses that come into Mexico and dominate the economy making it impossible to survive.

My message to all Mexicans and Africans and Iranians and afflicted peoples everywhere is this:

STOP RUNNING and take back your countries. Fight a real war. A war of dignity, freedom, and the right to survive. FIGHT FOR WHAT IS YOURS!!!!

Unfortunately, the majority of people selling dope and joining gangs in the US are of Mexican/Hispanic heritage. The terrorist part is just plain BS, but it still come down that the majority are that race. Is it fair? No, but it is the facts.

I agree. People of other cultures make this country. People seem to have forgotten that the only natives to this country were the Native Americans (hence the name). We are a melting pot and we should respect those who come to live in this country(legally). People are people and to say that Mexicans just want to cross the boarder to sell drugs and join gangs is ridiculous, and I am sorry that any one has been so ignorant to say this to you. Mexicans are no better nor worse than anyone else, and it really upsets me that you are being treated differently because of your heritage. I apologize on behalf of my fellow idiotic american citizens.

I haven't seen many. Maybe you're just hyper sensitive or paranoid.

Plus it's a big deal in the news these days with illegals crossing the border and all. People are pretty hot about it...

It's going to die down soon so just chill out and stop being offended. I'm sure there are bigger things in life to worry about. If people judge you based on your nationality then you don't need them...It's just an easy way to figure out who the idiots are. Once you know, stay away from them.

Think about something else. Life's too short to get poed over stupid stuff.

I must say that I agree with you. I don't know about the mexican issue that you mention here because I am knew here and I don't know how the other communities act about this but I think that in North America we too often tend to think in terms of "white and christian" if either of the 2 criterias is missing then it just doesn't work. What a shame and what a loss in cultural growth !

People can be hateful, spiteful creatures. Not to mention, proud of their ignorance.

I love it when someone is saying bad things about Mexicans and then I tell them I am a quarter Mexican(which I am..but tall, white, green eyes) and they just stutter and don't know what to say. I can almost see it in their eyes, like they are thinking, "What? But, I thought you were one of us!"

I am jerk! I'm a person just like you!

Just because I'm white doesn't mean that I'm okay with people putting down other races. But, like someone said above, all types of people face discrimination. However, gays and mexicans are getting it pretty bad, right now.

I agree with you. Racism and ignorance.
I would like to see statistics to back up the claim that the majority of gangs and drug dealers are Mexican/Hispanic.
I have absolutely no problem with people crossing the border. Most white people wouldn't even be in this country if it weren't for immigration.

your right the only reason its a big thing is because of the illegals crossing and the same goes for all the gay questions. if you show this upsets u then people will keep nagging u. truth be told we of color are the only ones seen selling and doing drugs because it makes us look bad. but we all know that the gov has control over the transporting of these substances into our communities. the truth is if i didn't have a job and had hungry mouths to feed i would proble do what i had to do. and the gov feeds off this. no jobs means they can control us better. look at the gas prices. its the same deal we all need to educate ourselfs about this.

People can be pretty nasty online, because they don't have to show their faces.

Also, I think we all notice things that involve us, even if it's things we don't like. For example, I'm not Mexican, and I haven't noticed anything anti-Mexican on these boards, because it doesn't pertain to me, but if I see hostile posts about a group to which I do belong, or feel a particular affinity, then I take notice.

A few years back, I was talking with a friend about my fascination with the Holocaust, and she was talking about her fascination with the VietNam War. Thing is, I'm half Jewish on my father's side, and she's half Vietnamese on her mother's. You know, both of these events weigh pretty heavily on all of our minds, but especially on those who have some personal connection.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the vast majority of illegals in the country are mexicans, something along the lines of 12 million illegal mexicans in the USA, that may be why "everyone" says mexicans instead of saying the correct term, illegal aliens.
