Please help us out with this, my girlfriend is 18 weeks pregnant, her last period started on 30 january 2006, she had sex with a guy on 14 february 2006 and after that only with me. She was totally choose for me now but we are very affraid if i will be the father since her she had sex just before that. We tried to calculate a few times ourself but we dont know if we calculate the good way. Could somebody help us to calculate if it was possible for her to get pregnant from the other gut or not or at least to find out what is the biggest chance. We are happy now together but want to know the truth. Of course we will do a pregnancy test after the child is born but would like to know the chances. She dont want to do an earlier test since we hear from many people that this test can be very dangerous for the health of the child. Is that truth? Please help us out it would make our life hopefully more easy.

Best way to find is to get a test when the baby comes. That is the only way to be sure. Sorry.

I was in the same positions the both of you are in. You will not know and i believe there is no accurate calculation, not even from a doctor. I had a ultra sound very very early and the doctor decided it was a 10% chance it was the other guys. And a 90% chance it was the guy i am with now. So the guy i am with now decided no matter what his or not he wanted me to have her and he would raise her as his own. I was 20 and he was19 at the time. It was a very difficult decision to make. But i had the baby and we did the test after she was born, which might i add takes for ever to get the results. I didnt want to do the test while the baby was in me because that is a very dangerous thing to do. The chances of losing the baby are way to high. So i had my baby girl and you could have swore she looked like my boyfriend. But the test came back and she wasn't. She was the other guys. 10% chance huh... well that sucked! It was very hard, the toughest time of both of our lives. He spent a lot of time trying to figure out if he was here for me or the just for the baby. Now we knew he wasnt the biological father and she was 6 months at the time. But in the end HE WAS THE DAD! He had been there through the pregnancy, he had been there in the delivery room, He delivered her, he cut the cord, he wouldnt leave her side the whole time in the hospital. When it came down to finding out who was the biological dad, he stayed with me/us. He loves us and thats all that mattered. Blood isnt everything. If you two love eachother and care about eachother and want to have this baby... then do it. And stick to it. Times might get ruff. On a good note i just found out i am pregnant again and this is my boyfriends baby. And he is just as happy and excited as he was with our first. I wish you two the best! Remember if you stay together now... you can stay together after no matter what and raise this baby together.. You can always have more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well from what you have said it seems to me that there is a slight chance that the baby could be this other man's. But with the way things are there's more of a chance of the baby being yours. I might be wrong though. But if all you say is true than most likely the child is yours. Just to make sure, after the baby is born, have a test done. If you have the test done now they won't be able to know since the child isn't far enough along. Not only that buy it COULD hurt the child, too. I hope things work out for you. Good luck.

Ok, not to be judgemental but, what in the WORLD is your girlfriend doing having sex with another guy??

Ok, theres nothing you can do about this now. Just be glad she let you know and did not wait until the child was 17 and tell you on the Maurey Povitz show.

Ok, DO NOT do the amnio paternity test. It is TOO risky. You will have to wait until the child is born in a few months and take a paternity test then. I know that it will be hard to wait but this is the only safe thing to do. That way you can see who the child looks like and because you had sex with your girlfriend so close to the time she had sex with the other guy, there is no way of calculating that with for sure accuracy.

I hope your girlfriend learns her lesson.

If this is a made up question then well done for doing your homework. Otherwise it isn't good news. Ovulation is 14 days before the 2nd of March. Which is about the 26th. An egg is viable for around 24hours so it could be the 15th. Sperm lasts about three days.

So, anyone who had sex with her between 12th and 17th of February could be the dad.

Yes the test has risks for the baby.

make a decision on wether you weant to be a family regardless of who the biological father is. This will be hard and you need to be sure otherwise you and the baby and your partner will have to endure a lot of heartache

You may think this is odd advice but this is what my opinion is. A father does not have to be biological. If you guys are happy together and want to raise this child together then you should do so. Does the other guy know she is pregnant? Definitely have a test after the baby is born, not just for the reason of who is going to be the "father" but you want to know who's medical background (hereditary illness etc) that this child will have. If it is not your then you and your g/f can still raise and love this child together even with the other guy in the picture. I wish you all the best of luck and blessings for a healthy baby. It sounds like this baby will be surrounded by lots of love no matter what the outcome is.

Just wait until the child is born and perform a paternity test. The tests performed before birth can be extremely dangers and it's totally possible that the other guy is the father seeing as she had sex with him between the last time she had a period and when she found out she was pregnant.

well i just went to a pregnancy calander website....if her last missed period was on january 30 and if her cycle is 28 days then the due date is november 7th and the estimated conception date is february 13....sorry but thats really close to the 14th and would say there is a good chance the baby is the other guys. You should wait til the baby is born and get a blood test done before you sign the birth certificate unless you dont care if the baby is yours or not. this is the site i was at if you would like to check for yourself. hope everything goes well...good luck

This should not be an issue, if I were you I would avoid a DNA test and just accept the child as mine. All you you find if pain if the results are not what you want to hear. If you have already forgiven your girl for cheating on you, then let that sh!t go. Besides the only way you will find out is by DNA test so you will have to wait anyways.

Think about it, If you dont do the test, who's to say that the baby is not yours?

2006-06-07 08:41:17 · answer #9 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

I think it is not yours, based on the ovulation calendar if she had sex with the other guy two weeks later after her period (starting with the fist day of her period) she was the most fertile exactly on the day she had sex with the guy in my opinion most likely is not your and I believe it will be a baby boy ( based on the same calculations). but I would recommend a paternity test just to be sure which can be done after the 4th month of pregnancy, if you want this child I really hope is yours, good luck!

if she's eighteen weeks pregnant, they are counting her as pregnant from the first week of february, but she had her period that week, so she wasn't pregnant then. But it has to be as close to that time as possible for the count to be accurate. If she didn't have sex with you very shortly before or after that valentine's day guy, then its probably him. Especially since valentines day would have been right when she was ovulating (two weeks after her period).

Just because you are not the father of this baby doesn't mean she doesn't love you, but you are going to have to talk this one out with a counselor.
