I used my educational loan as a downpayment for a house we bought 5 years ago, since I received a full tuition scholarship from my company. After the divorce, we sold the house, and divide the equity. Now can I ask the court to have my wife help pay my educational loan?

You may ask, but whether you will receive is a separate issue...

If you've already gotten a Decree of Divorce or a court-approved settlement you won't be able to "add" on to it. If you have not finalized the divorce, you can add it to the list of things to negotiate. But once you finalize things through the divorce, you can't change the agreement. You could always ask your ex-wife very nicely but you can't have the courts force her to pay if you've already settled.

I don't think that would be ethical if you already got your half of the money from the sale of the house. To take her to court for that would be like trying to get the money twice. You should use the money from the sale of the home to repay your loans.
