My boyfriend has an issue with expressing his feelings outwardly. He hardly ever tells me that he loves me, and when he has, its been something short of a muttered, "I luv ya"! Ever see the movie, "GHOST" ? yeah, DITTO!! Im not looking for him to say he loves me all day everyday to the point that I LOVE YOU has no meaning and its just words spat out-not at all. But on those certain occasions when you catch eachothers eye and you are in that "moment" I will tell him that I love him and he just looks at me, no response. That is the illest feeling in the world. Why is it so hard to say I LOVE YOU?

As a girl, I see what you're talking about. But taking a step back and looking on the brighter side...maybe boys just take it more seriously than girls. You pressuring won't help, he has to say it when, and how he's ready-and when that day comes just think of it like this, at least you'll know he means it and it's not because he's tired of hearing you conplain about how he never says it.

i have seen ghost and i'll tell you it's one of my favorites. back to the question though. Not all guys have the problem of saying it but some do. He may not feel the need to say it. ask yourself this, what does he DO to show or prove to me that he loves me? Does he go out of his way to see you, spend time with you, wrtie poems about you, or buy you flowers for absolutely no reason? If he does then in his own way he is saying it. Actions do speak louder than words. You had to hear that before. think about it. if he doesn't then Maybe it has something to do with how long you've been together. He has said it before though so i wouldn't worry about it.

First, how long have you been with him? and do you FEEL like he loves you? It may be hard to say "I love you" for him because of past experiences. Maybe he has said it to a girl, but the girl rejected him and it's coming back to haunt him, even though you say it to him regularly. He might also be afraid of showing his true emotions, because it wouldn't make him "manly" in front of you anymore.

Boyfriends are complicated; he might also be afraid that after he says it to you, things would change and he likes the way things are now. Give it some time, hopefully he'll come around.

My wife asks me the same question.
I don't feel that the words are all that important. I mean, if you don't know that I love you without me telling you then why are we together? You need convincing?

I don't need to tell you that the sky is blue, right?
You should already know.
