You have to be younger than 20 I think to get it....I watched it also with my sone who is 18 and his girfriend at the time who was 16...they were rolling on the floor and I just sat there wondering what they were taking. Your right..it is a stupid movie.

Its that the movie is so dumb you have to laugh. The stupidity of the movie is what makes it so good. And theres really nothing to get. Ive seen the movie a thousand times and theres No point to it, i really dont think it has like a main story line like normal movies do. IT just follows the everyday life of Napoleon Dynamite pretty much.

Napoleon Dynamite is one of those movies that is so stupid that it's funny. If you've watched and don't get it or whatever, then you are just one of those people who don't get into those types of movies.
Other movies of this type are: Spaceballs, Benchwarmers, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and tons more!

Its your basic everyday movie.It shows you don't need some big budget or big time actors and actress to have a great flick.I put it in the same catergory as Clerks.You can't say you don't know someone who acts like Napoleon all the time and the stupid stuff they do makes you laugh and wonder whats that all about.

I LOVE NAPOLEAN DYNAMITE!!! You kind of have to be a person that likes random things, or finds stupid things to be halarious. It's just a movie with a random guy that is supposed to make people laugh...anyway, if you like these kinds of movies you probably will like these: Dumb and Dumber, Ace Ventura 1 & 2, Corky Romano, etc. LOL!!!

Couldn t bear to watch it the first time I tried. It s such a comment on society. It hurt too much to watch. I see from the comments that many people are able to watch it and totally bypass what I see in it about the worst aspects of male dominant energy and sensitive people trying to live in the world. Apparently many people see it as just another movie to pass the time with and laugh at the "stupid" character, who, to me, is so sensitive and sympathetic.

Napolean Dynamite was sooo boring! most of the movie, he was just staring at the ground or sumthing on the side of the road. i honestly couldn't figure out why everyone loved it so much!

I do not know, because i hate that movie because it doesnt make sense.
I guess some people take it funny, of a life of a Nerd/geek/teen/orphan/has a hard time in school
