I had moderate acne as a teenager, then it started gradually clearing up by the time I was 18. I still was getting the occasional pimple after that, but the acne was mostly gone. Now I'm 29, and in the past three months, my skin is almost as bad as it was in my teens. I'm not eating differently, or using different products. What else could cause this sudden flare-up?

Yes, I am on the pill, I haven't forgotten to take any, and so it's unlikely that I'm pregnant, though it had crossed my mind...

Hormones, stress, change in weather. I found that using 1 part natural plain yogurt mixed with1 part non-fat powdered milk and 1/2 that amount of baking soda works wonders. Mix it all together, gently massage into your face and let set for about 3 minutes. It will feel tingely, rinse and lightly moisturize. I do it once a week and it has made a difference.

HORMONES!!! They are vicious! I had horrible acne as a teen but I worked with my dermatologist and got it all under control.
When I got into my late 20's my skin was less than desirable. It is because of change in hormones as you age. Are you on the pill? There are some that are better for acne than others so ask your doc. If you aren't on the pill you may want to consider taking it...certain ones will help. Check with your doctor...there are things they can do to rpevent it from getting worse. Good luck!

Hormonal changes often cause this problem. Possibly a check up with your doctor or a dermitalogist could be needed.

Sounds like a hormone fluctuation. See your doctor to discuss.
