To truly understand Druidism and Druids you really need to do some deep research into the religions that were practiced in Great Britain before the Roman and Christian influences stepped in.
It is believed that the Druids had something to do with the building of Stonehenge and in fact because of this the Druids who still practice and follow the old ways that live in England actually managed to limit contact to the stones by tourists. When I lived in England as a child I got to visit the stones, walk in the circle and even touch the ancient stones. There really is something mysterious and unique about that place. What saddened me was the blatant disrespect shown to the site by kids who took spray paint to the stones. Thus the reason for the closing of the site to tourists and anyone else except during certain times of the year.
It's even known that Druidic ceremonies are still practiced and held even today at the stones.
I know what you mean by trying to figure out what sites are legit and what sites are hoopla so to speak when it comes to trying to learn about other religions and beliefs. Maybe these links will help you some in understanding what Druidism was before and during the Roman empire. Not to mention the changes that have occurred since then in the way Druidism is practiced today.

I Hope some of these sites help give you a better incite into what druidism was, who they were and what practices they did before persecuted by the Romans and Christianity. Sometimes it helps to ask like you did to find the right places to look from people who have always been interested in the religions in the world past and present.

most of the druid orders around today are reconstructionist groups... and reconstructed from the writings of the roman Tacitus. The Druids did not keep written records or account thier rituals & rites. Basically the ancient druids were the priest class in ancient britan, ireland & scotland, modern day druids from OBOD(order of bards ovates & druids), ADF(Ár nDraíocht Féin), DCSG (Dvine circle of the sacred grove) etc are all reconstructed "new age" druids... each path is as valid as the next... it matters which group you feel comfortable with, where you find community...remember if you are seeking a group; run through the Advanced bonewits cult danger evaluation frame, so that you can minimize any danger in meeting secretly with an organized group (the last link) happy seeking!

Also, you'll be able to decide upon up a few honor/Wintergrasp rewards which are geared towards a resto druid. Really, the most important factor is getting your self a good mana pool as your expertise do the various paintings. Also, consider that for occasions and heroics, humans might instead pass with a healer in now not-outstanding-equipment, than without a healer in any respect.

It is a very old pagan religion.
They Christians tried to convert most people to Christianity and the old pagan ways sort of died out over time.

When trying to really learn about a new topic, I feel that aside from casual browsing, you should read about the subject, rather than try filter through info on the web. Find a reputable author.
