You need to burn the cd using a program like iTunes and not copy the files onto the cd using Windows. Get iTunes and get an iPod is your best way to go. You import the original music into iTunes, you make a playlist of music of which the time will fit onto a cd and then you put the blank cd in and burn it. It doesn't matter if the cd is an audio or data cd, iTunes will burn it to play on your music device. I have found all other programs including Windows Media Player and Musicmatch Jukebox to be less than the functionality of iTunes. iTunes is a free download from Apple and works now on PCs as well.

Your question is not clear. I am answering this question assuming that you have songs in the mp3 format on the cd.
Yes you can play it on the cd player only if your cd player supports MP3. All new music systems that are available in the market now supports mp3 format. If you are not sure whether your player supports mp3 or not then check the user manual that comes with the cd player. Normally the manufacturers put a label "MP3" on the player if it supports mp3.

Sure, if you have a regular CD player, just burn the songs onto the dic in .wav format (~15-20 songs max). If you have an mp3-capable player, you can get many, many songs onto a disc by burning as data files......
