Umm, good question 'nimmoo'...I'm almost at a loss of words right now, or should I say, 'searching' for words...

Defining one's identity based on the present life is like deceiving oneself. We tend to 'define' ourselves on our observations in our 'immediate' lives, you ask me the same question a few years later, I may give a completely different answer. Why? 'Coz by that time my priorities might have changed and I might have gone through life-changing experiences.

So the first thing to do is to look at life as a big picture.

Let's pan our lenses....like a bird's eye view...from the sky...

From here I see that we are like little mice, in 24 hours we only travel to & fro from home & office & kid's school and grocery stores etc etc...In short, our world is small & we stupidly 'define' our so called, insignificant identity just to prove we're alive in a world which doesn't really know us as much as we know ourselves...

However, defining one's identity is as important as anything else.

So let's go a little furthur....in space....

Maybe we should looks from GODs perspective for a change...

The Creator of these amazing heavenly bodies around me, and the stars, and the beautiful Sun...

GOD created me as well...I am no match to the Sun, the moon and the stars...I am no match to Nature and the greenery on Earth, or the protective envelope that surrounds our Planet.

Frankly, i feel really very small and enchanted by these beauties...
I'm almost dreaming of having wings and flying into space to experiece GODs creations....as much as my heart can take it...

But I still need to answer your question. Right?

Let me think....

...What could be logical....

......What could be really truthful on my part....

.........What could be more menaingful than saying that....

.....that.....

....that.....

.....I define my identity as a humble soul dwelling in GOD's wonderful creation...

....I define my identity as a blessed child of GOD who wanted me to enjoy the beauty of this world...hence I'm here....

....I define my identity as a silly brat who keeps wanting more despite the hidden treasures GOD has kept inside me which I refuse to see as I cannot meditate as strongly as I should....

....What more should I say....
....My life is as ordinary as everyone else....
....And yet so simply complicated to understand....
....That I'm actually GOD's Creation like all of us....

I'm not sure whether you liked my expressions in this 'defining the identity' essay...But I hope I've managed to capture your attention here...as I've written all this from my heart...

Thanks =)

Well , I'm 105 years old no one knows what I've been through , I was young with 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,0 questions in my heart but the answers developed by themselves I wanted to be the man # 1 in the universe but I was wrong I wanted to have all the women in the world but again I was wrong so, I made a decision I stop-ed day-dreaming and begun to smell the roses, that was the breakthrough in my life I'm still a little confuse about getting married or not but I think that's life after all...!

A 59-year-old witch living in the redwoods and venturing forth to learn new things to do with a computer.

A former member of Mensa who loves to learn new things, and is frustrated at the limits she finds creeping up on her.

An unemployed semi-genius who ought not to have to deal with a dead computer. (Typing this at school.)

One of Johnny Depp's BIGGEST fans.

A level seven, #28 on the leaderboard who probably will drop due to not having a computer at home for awhile.

[I define myself differently minute by minute.]

Just a few months ago i realized that being connected to an identity did not make sense for me anymore. Clinging to an identify was distancing me from god.

"May as well moor a boat to the tail of an eel"
Old Buddhist saying about trying to understand the self.

I would define it as That which we can recognize through the erosion of time.
