Is this a good job title to have? What kind of money do I have to invest to become one? I am 19, is that to young?

Any answers you have I want to hear! If there are questions I left out please inform me.

I was a Realtor for a while. In order to become a Realtor, you have to take and pass a state test and a national test covering the basics of real estate laws and terminology. There are many classes for this, offered through Realtor associations and independently. You will need a broker to back you, so one way to do it is to go to a local brokerage, tell them you're interested in becoming a Realtor, and get information from them about local classes.

In the classes, you'll learn what you need to know to pass the test, as well as where to take the test and what to expect. There are a number of fees involved and you'll need to pay the brokerage for office space, phone services, etc. So have a several hundred dollars at the ready. It's going to take a while to get started, clients will not just fall into your lap. Be sure you have someone else to lean on that first year. I know someone who made $40K her first year, but that's unrealistic for most starting Realtors. Get ready to make around $20k the first year after putting in twice the hours you would for any other job.

Once you become established, it can be a great career and there's plenty of money in it. It can be fun, and it's fulfilling to help people find the home of their dreams. And that happens. Age is not a concern, as long as you are knowledgeable and personable. That said, older Realtors probably don't have to work as hard to gain a client's trust and respect, as they may seem to have more years of experience even if they don't.

The key is dedication and long hours combined with a great personality... you're really selling yourself more than you're selling property, as people need to place their faith in you. I didn't have the passion or the drive, so I switched careers. But if you really want it, it can be a fantastic career and I have several friends doing quite well for themselves in the industry. Good luck! :)

Being a Realtor is no different than any other small business. Some people become very successful and some barely make a living. If you have had marketing background or experience in dealing with people your chances are better. The timing is not good – many Realtors have no clients. To become a Realtor will cost you around $1,000 and you need other means of support for about six months or a year (before you sell something). Once you have your license it is very easy to get hired. But your employer (Broker) will do very little for you (in spite of advertising slogans). Except for occasional advice you are on your own.

First you need to find a school thst teaches classes. It takes about 4 months depending how fast you want to get finished. Real Estate is a good profession but it takes work, and you have to like peple. The only money invested id for the classes and when you pay for the test and join the local board. No 19 is not to young if this is what you really want to work.

The best place to start is to do a search online for the contact information of your state's real estate commission.

Once there, you can research on what you will need to become a real estate agent.

Texas for example requires:
- Core Real Estate Courses
- Other college courses
- State exam

I hope this helps.

See if there is a real estate school in your area. If there isn't then contact the nearest community college, some have them there. Look online for the real estate board in your state. They can give you all the info. I think the age minimum is 18. Good luck!

i am a realtor in las vegas and that i ultimately needed to positioned my license on "ice". it is in order that gradual. the one persons making any cash are directory marketers that experience financial institution owned listings and that is beautiful rough to faucet into. i imply, you'll get your license and in case you have the cash, cross forward and be a realtor, however do not expect doing it complete time if you're simply coming into it.
