why are people so mean to people that they dont even know

It is because the world has fallen out of right relationship with God through Jesus Christ. You see when God first created people he created them to be in relationship with him. humans falling out of relationship is what has caused things to become the way they are,If more people would acknowledge the only true God these hate issues wouldf not be so,but to many have decided that God aint real or doesnt care because of the way things are in the world.And as long as people continueb on that path things will be what they are.It can start with you changing your relationship with God right now: say Father I thank you for Jesus and I recognize that you God raised Jesus from the dead Jesus change my heart and my understanding into what you want it to be, in Jesus name amen. Now if you made that confession you are well on your way to greater peace in your,however look out for acouple of not so good things to happen real soon because that is the devil trying to discourage you to say "God is not real see I did that confession and look what happened." But thats the devils trick he comes immediatly to steal your faith because you are no longer his and you belong to God now and there is nothing he can do about it.
However if you refuse to make that confession then you have no justifiable cause to complain about the way you are treated,if you dont want to change then dont expect others to.

depends on if you mean on here? or in life? On here and through email it's hard to read the others answers etc. people take things the wrong way. I just expierenced that answering a question. in life, people have bad days, things are going on at all times, and people can't handle the problems and that I believe makes them this way. you can't tell me that you weren't ever mean? this would be too fake.

that's a great question Kayla! because some people are bitter, some of them just think they are being funny! those are the ones i dislike the most, people who use humor to be nasty, they say something really bad and then say "i was just kidding". as my mother used to say: "if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all". and oh by the way you will usually find that it's the people who are nasty who react the worst when somebody is nasty about them!

People are weird...talking bad about others sort of makes them feel less bad of themselves. It's just a human quality and yes it is stupid but we all do it anyway.
